VA: How has it been taking this film to different countries – like at Cannes, Toronto and Sundance? Have North American audiences resonated with it any differently than the Lebanese audiences?
“Resonated even better! What happened  in Toronto was just amazing and even in Sundance. My only two experiences in this part of world was Sundance and Toronto. Now I want to see how it’s going to happen here. People are getting it. It’s beyond language. It’s beyond culture. People are getting emotionally attached to the film and this is what’s important to me. No matter what the quality of the film is, because it’s not perfect. It could have been perfect – of course – but people are getting the intention of it. And that’s what’s important to me. It’s going beyond the film itself. I’m invited to do talks all over the world, in universities, in schools. We’re doing political talk shows. In Lebanon, we’re breaking all sorts of records – history records. It’s going beyond the film.”
