I honestly didn’t realize I was such a Kerry Wood fan til I started crying when he shook Lester Strode’s hand and realized he was actually leaving. I was wondering why it affected me so much. I had liked Kerry Wood, but I never thought of him as one of my favorites. Guess maybe he was a favorite after all. Maybe for me it has something to do with he and Ron Santo. Here’s a picture I took of Kerry that I took at Santo’s statue dedication last year. This is how I think of him. He and Ronnie are forever linked in my mind.
