The evaluations, ordered by President Nursultan Nazarbayev, will be held May-June and will include 71,909 law enforcement officers, including 177 top-ranking commanders, Interior Ministry spokesman Nurdildy Oraz said.
“Performance reviews will involve computer testing of officers’ knowledge of the law and their ability to think logically; practical tests of physical fitness and combat skills; and interviews to test their psychological stability,” he said, adding that anyone who flunks will not have a second chance.
The evaluation campaign will cover the Interior Ministry (police), National Security Committee (KNB), General Prosecutor’s Office, financial police, the State Fire Fighting Service, and the Customs Committee.
