EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: WHERE DO WE GO NOW’s Writer-Director-Star Nadine Labaki Talks Filmmaking & The Absurdities of War

Lebanese writer-director-actress Nadine Labaki arrived on our shores in 2008 with her critically acclaimed directorial debut, CARAMEL, establishing her as an international triple threat. Now she’s returned with a more politically charged, but no-less-than-charming feature, WHERE DO WE GO NOW? The dramedy is set in a remote village and follows the antics of the town’s women as they try to keep the hot tempered men from starting a religious war.
I had the extreme pleasure of sitting down with the talented filmmaker to discuss everything from the pleasures and challenges of working with non-professional actors, to crafting a story that’s both timeless and universal to, well, where she goes now.
